I have been trying to understand pastels for quite a while now, and thanks to a friend have a wonderful book by Jackie Simmonds, as you can see it on the right and on the left is an example of the pastel paper I have just bought, so that I can work on different coloured paper. Why are they so many different papers for an artist to choose from, watercolour paper, cartridge paper, pastel paper, layout paper, its enough to drive you mad with choice. Well, I got some nice coloured pastel paper and I am looking forward to exploring my book and new paper.
