New tools for my art box

Today, I have been out shopping, and treated my self to a couple of new gadgets for my art, the first one is a small box of Cont Carres Sketching Crayons, an electric eraser and also a erasing shield, similer to the one above, I felt that as I have been concentrating so much on my pencil and coloured pencil work, these new tools will help me to gain maximum benefit and also creat a better and more effective drawing. I have seen a lot of references about how to use electric erasers and shields effectivly to creat some wonderfull work. I have often seen on line and in books how the use of these tools can improve the drawing. Hopefully this is true. All though I have shown the Derwent electric eraser, the one I have bought was a lot cheaper and is produced by Jakar, I can't see why there is such a difference in the price of materials as this, especially as they do the same job, however, when it comes to paint, pencils, coloured pencils and pastels, then expensive, well know makes are usually better, although I have a set of pastels which are at the lower end of the price band, and have found not fault with the quality. With watercolours however, I am using the Cotman brand from Windsor and Newton, I have a desire when I run out of one colour I will replace it with Artists colours rather than studnet ones.

I agree with you about the watercolors, I LOVE Cotman.
I like using an electric eraser for highlights, and it erases harder than a normal plastic eraser. I heard you can erase colored pencils nicely with it , but I tried and failed at it.
I have used an eraser shield before, and I really don't like it.. and you handle it wrong and it can cut you (that's happened plenty of times for me)
Contes are nice, I like to sketch with them (not much anymore). I hope you get a lot of inspiration from your new tools and draw to your hearts content.
