Back to watercolour basics

I went to art class yesterday and we were learning about basic sky washes, I know that its back 

to basics but, for a while just havn't been happy with the sky washes for the work I want to do, so this weeks work was very valuable to me. I have decided to show 

them here so that you can see what I have done, then later on 

when I have completed a picture I can post that and you can compare my work on the sky. I have made a start on a painting, just waiting for the first wash to dry, then I can make a start on the next stage of 

it. I hope the I can get it to look alright and do justice to the hard work of yesterday. I have decided to work on a simple harbour scene with a few houses and and dock, so as buildings are something I enjoy doing it should make it easier to work on. I think now is a good time to end this post and to ask you all to wait for the next one to see how things turn out.
