I work a lot in pencil and pastel, and I always find that when I erase something I can, if I'm not careful smudge the drawing when I wipe away the bits of eraser. I have now find a cheap and handy tool, a make up brush, like the ones shown on the right, they are soft and don't damage your drawing, and the best bit is you can buy them at a fairly cheep price. I am lost without mine and always have to hand when drawing, and its also hand for dusting your keyboard.
